I have just celebrated my 20th year of my business in 2010...oh, but I jumped way ahead of my story.
From a very early age growing up in Crosbyton, Texas…a small West Texas town near Lubbock, sewing became a very crucial part of my life. My father had an upholstery shop and was extremely qualified at his craft. I had a Grandmommie who was a precise seamstress with instructions to me like “I will only teach you to sew if you do it RIGHT!”
My best friend through my adult life could make any outfit that looked like it came from Neiman Marcus…she was a great influence on my sewing technique. Design and Decorating became a passion with me and my love for gorgeous fabrics and trims grows continually.
I moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 1990 and adored living in the Southeast for 10 years. There is where all of my years of training, learning, and gathering design techniques all collided and my business began.
Oh, how I LOVE the South! One of my first BIG Civic Center trade shows to participate in was the Christmas Village Festival in Birmingham, Alabama. To my surprise and thankful amazement, the women loved what I did and have been my solid and faithful support structure for TWENTY years. I grew to understand the needs and desires of my customers and have found such joy in creating what I call my “Eye Candy” for their homes.
I have delightfully traveled extensively from Chicago to Denver, from New Mexico to the Eastern seaboard to set-up at some of the most incredible shows in the land and to some of the smallest most treasured shows ever! In 2002, I chose to move back to Lubbock once again to be near my family. Since then, I have built the studio of my dreams and what a joy and pleasure it is to me everyday.
I absolutely love what I do…I enjoy every facet of it, from shopping for exquisite fabrics and combining them into distinctive decorative items with the most elegant trims I can find…to presenting them to my customers in person at the shows. I enjoy working with Decorators and Designers to create masterpieces for their clients.
I can truly say that God has Blessed me with a business that is so satisfying and rewarding to me and for bringing me such amazing contact with the public through the years …especially for bringing me the most awesome and precious friends through these adventures.
